Support Skid Row’s First Recovery Program Just for Women
Every woman deserves a safe place to heal. The Clare E. Women’s Recovery Center is the first of its kind on Skid Row—a space created by women, for women—providing trauma-informed care, recovery housing, and support grounded in the 12-step tradition.
Your gift today will help us open the doors to possibility: beds for women beginning their journey, therapy and recovery programs tailored to their needs, and a community where they are seen, heard, and believed in.
This center is more than a building—it’s a lifeline. A place for women to rediscover their strength, rebuild their lives, and reclaim their futures.

💛 Be Part of a First
As the number of unhoused women in Los Angeles continues to rise — now estimated at over 7,000 in Central LA alone — the need for gender-responsive recovery is urgent. Women experiencing homelessness face unique traumas, including alarmingly high rates of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Yet nearly all recovery programs on Skid Row were designed for men.
We’re changing that.
Beginning August 4, twenty-four women will move into a beautifully redesigned, fully trauma-informed program tailored specifically to their needs — with private rooms, mental health care, job readiness training, and a community grounded in compassion and dignity. The program is entirely run by women. It’s the only one of its kind in the area.
This is not a pilot. It’s a promise. And it’s built on a model we know works.
The new Clare E. Women’s Recovery Center is a safe, supportive space for single women ready to heal and begin again.
